George O'Brien was one of the most popular Western Stars of the 30. He had wit, charm, and the muscles to back them up. He came out of impressive silent films directed by John Ford and others. After a string of Sol Lesser produced westerns for Fox, O'Brien signed with producer George Hirliman, who released O'Brien's pictures through RKO Radio, the quality of which was scatter-shot as he played against type as various characters as well as Daniel Boone. This one is quite good for a formula "B". Strong supporting cast as well including Ward Bond, a long time friend. Worth a look. RKO bought out O'Brien's contract in 1938 and starred him a long string of westerns afterwards into 1940.
